These are some of the literacy workstations that we are working on.

Beginning of the year Math Workstations

These are some of the beginning of the year math workstations.  At this time the students are playing with the manipulatives and getting a sense for how they work.

The whole class is working with their math bins.

Outside Play

Outside play is an important part of kindergarten.  To begin the year we are spending time drawing with sidewalk chalk and playing with rocks and dinosaurs.  The children are still learning how to work cooperatively so there is a lot of parallel play.

Chalk is a nice medium for drawing and printing as the children tend to draw things very large.

First Day Art

The students started the project by colouring on the white paper with crayons.  Then they painted it with watery yellow tempera paint and bingo dabbers.

They turned out great and look lovely on the wall.
