Kindergarten News- Nov.15

Nov. 19 – Library Field Trip

Nov. 22 – Teddy Bear Picnic

Dec. 10 - Christmas Concert

1:15 & 6:00

Dec. 21  - Christmas Make & Take

You are welcome to come on the bus with us to the library.  We are going with Mrs. Anderson’s class and there will be lots of room.

November 22nd will be the Teddy Bear picnic.  It’s lots of fun and involves a parade with all kindergarten students and their teddy bears pulled in wagons.  The wagons are an at-home project.  Generally wagons can be made with a shoe box.  Please decorate them with your child using paint, crayons, stickers etc.  You can be fancy and add wheels if you want but be sure to include a rope to pull the wagon.

We have started playing games like Trouble and Candy Land in the class.  I’m sure your child would love to play them with you at home.  It’s extremely important that your child loses some of the time when you play with them.  Also ensure that you play by the rules that come with the game.  It’s very confusing when the kids are trying to play together in the class if they don’t know the same rules.

Cold weather is upon us and that means winter jackets.  Please have your child practice putting on and zipping up their own coat.

Orange Week

Orange & Black painting with Q-tips.

We did an orange experiment during orange week.  They were able to mix orange Gatorade, orange jello, orange Kool-aid, orange decorating crystals and white flour.

Choice Time

There is always a group playing Lego

The whole class loves construction.

This day there was a girl project and a boy project.

Many times toys are taken out and then not played with.

Light Table

Light table is one of the most exciting workstations.
I generally use an old overhead projector because it's quite easy for me to store.

The children can play and create designs that they can project onto the ceiling.

Playing in the trees

The trees are a special area that we have on our school grounds.

Last week the kids had a lot of fun collecting leaves for a big pile and then jumping in it.

They also collected some "crystals."
